Day 1 - Welcome to Sri Lanka
You will be met by our representative at the Colombo airport & will be escorted to your vehicle for the transfer to Negombo for your overnight hotel (Approx. 30mins drive). Affectionately dubbed as ‘Little Rome’, Negombo offers a variety of things to see and do, from medieval churches, a noisy fish market and access to fresh seafood and some of the most scenic beaches on the island. The town’s rich history: with a predominant Dutch influence is evident throughout the town.

Day 2 - Negombo to Habarana
Enjoy an early breakfast & leave for the heart of cultural triangle in the country; Habarana, which is filled with ancient wonders (Approx. 3.5hrs drive). Hiriwadunna Village Tour: Leave the hotel after breakfast and travel into the lush Sri Lankan countryside. The tour starts with a Bullock cart ride to the village. Then a walk through the tiny village of Hiriwadunna while enjoying the views and the cooling breeze. At a house in the village relax & taste a delicious Sri Lankan Lunch, that you helped prepare. Experience a boat ride to the next side of the rural village and finish the tour by taking a tuk tuk ride back to the hotel. Check-in & relax.

Day 3 - Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Today morning you will visit the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya: Rising dramatically from the central plains, the enigmatic rocky outcrop of Sigiriya is perhaps Sri Lanka's single most dramatic sight. Near-vertical walls soar to a flat-topped summit that contains the ruins of an ancient civilization, thought to be once the epicenter of the short-lived kingdom of Kassapa, and there are spellbinding vistas across mist-wrapped forests in the early morning. Upon exploring the beauty of the fortress, visit Minneriya National Park for a thrilling game drive to be closer to the Sri Lankan wild elephants.

Day 4 - Habarana to Kandy
Drive towards the hill capital of Sri Lanka; Kandy (Approx. 3hrs drive). En route - visit Dambulla Golden Cave Temple: is a vast isolated rock mass of 500 feet high and a mile around the base. Here is found the famous Rock Temple dating to the First Century B.C. The caves of Dambulla sheltered King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he built the most magnificent of Rock Temples to be found in the Island. Afterwards drive to visit Matale Spice Garden. The Matale Spice Garden in Sri Lanka is a fragrant oasis where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of spices. Nestled in the lush hills of Matale, it offers guided tours through aromatic spice plantations, showcasing a diverse array of herbs and spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Visitors can learn about spice cultivation, harvesting techniques, and medicinal uses while experiencing the rich sensory delights of this vibrant botanical paradise.

Day 5 - Kandy
After a scrumptious breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Garden (Approx. 25mins drive). The Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy, Sri Lanka, is a horticultural masterpiece spanning 147 acres. Established in the 14th century, it showcases a diverse collection of plant species, including orchids, palms, and medicinal plants. The garden's centerpiece is the imposing avenue of royal palms. Visitors can explore themed sections like the stunning Orchid House and the fragrant Spice Garden. The garden also houses an iconic fig tree with sprawling roots. Afterwards in the evening visit Kandy Temple of the Tooth: within the royal palace complex of the ancient Kingdom of Kandy, the Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple that is home to the tooth relic of Lord Buddha. The city of Kandy was the last great capital of Sri Lanka’s ancient kings, and the presence of the temple is a major reason that the city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The relic that lies within the temple has played a major role in Sri Lanka’s political history. Later in the evening witness the cultural dance show.

Hatton is one of the busiest cities in the hill country of Sri Lanka and is colloquially known as the tea capital of the country, as it is the central point for most upcountry tea growing regions, such as Maskeliya, Talawakelle, Bogawantalawa and Dickoya

Enjoy your breakfast at the resort & drive Udawalawe (Approx. 4 hrs drive). En route visit Elephant Transit Home. Elephant Transit Home: situated within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka, is a rehabilitation centre dedicated to the care and protection of orphaned and injured elephants. Founded in collaboration with the Department of Wildlife Conservation, it serves as a safe haven for these vulnerable animals. The centre focuses on rehabilitating young elephants, with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into the wild when they are ready. Visitors can observe the elephants during feeding times, which are carefully monitored to minimize human contact and promote their natural development. The Elephant Transit Home plays a crucial role in the conservation efforts for Sri Lanka's elephant population.

This protected reserve is renowned for its large population of majestic Asian elephants, making it a prime destination for elephant enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park's diverse ecosystem includes lush grasslands, shimmering reservoirs, and thriving forests, providing a habitat for a wealth of wildlife, from elusive leopards and water buffalo to numerous bird species. Mirissa is renowned for its vibrant sunsets, making it a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and romantic getaways. It's also a popular starting point for whale and dolphin watching excursions, allowing visitors to witness these magnificent marine creatures in their natural habitat. Day 11 - Galle Dutch Fort
The day is free for you to spend at the Galle Dutch Fort. Visit Galle Dutch Fort. Built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch and British, the Galle Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering travellers a plethora of things to explore from a bygone era. Visit historic monuments as you stroll along the ancient ramparts of the fort. This old, culturally harmonious town resembles a quaint European village with cobblestoned streets lined with cafes, bistros, restaurants, boutique retail outlets and more.
